In the year 1936, the very first factory authorized Harley-Davidson® dealership in Shreveport opened its doors. Given the modern day success of Harley-Davidson® Motor Co. it is difficult for some to comprehend that it was somewhat of a gamble for John "Cherry" Wallace to invest in what was at that time a relatively new company. Cherry opened Wallace Harley-Davidson for business in what is now the old west end section of downtown Shreveport at 1805 Texas Ave. Cherry's gamble and vision did pay off though and turned into a forty-one year stay at the Texas Ave. location. James Wallace, Cherry's son, went to work for his father in 1948. Short of a brief hitch with the Navy, James worked for his father for 27 years before taking the reins in 1975. James stayed at the old Texas Ave. location another two years until a fire at the dealership forced a move to the location at 5545 Greenwood Rd.
In 1997, one of the longest running business establishments in the city changed hands. James Wallace, after 61 years of selling and repairing Harley-Davidson® motorcycles, decided that it was time to retire. He determined that two local businessmen named Brad Mayo and Wade Culbertson, business partners for over 20 years, would be his successors. Brad and Wade have given what is now Shreveport Harley-Davidson, Inc. a fresh new look and perspective with the construction of a 14,500 sq. ft. facility at 805 Brook Hollow which is centrally located within the growing Bert Kouns industrial complex.
In January of 1999, Shreveport Harley-Davidson, Inc. moved into it's 14,500 sq. ft. facility at 805 Brook Hollow Drive. Things around the shop and showroom are busy, busy due to the daily arrival of new Bikes, Parts, Accessories and Motorclothes.
Shreveport Harley-Davidson has a staff of 23 employees, willing to help you with all your Harley-Davidson® needs. You can visit our showroom and look at the Harley-Davidson® jeans, shirts, t-shirts, footwear, rain gear or leather. If clothes is not what your looking for then maybe our displays of Harley- Davidson® novelties such as salt and pepper shakers, glasses, mugs, pitchers, banks will get your attention. Then again maybe the Harley® Neon Clocks or the Stamper jewelry is what catches your eye. We really have just about anything you can imagine.
If clothes or novelties are not what interest you, then maybe the bikes we have on the floor will get you attention. Whether it's one of the 2009 Harley-Davidson's® or 2009 Buell's® or one of the pre-owned bikes we have. No matter which one it may be our Sales Department will be more than happy to help you with financing or anything else to put you on one of the bikes. Then after buying the bike you can go across the room to the walls of chrome we have and really give that new bike a fashion statement.
Then again, you may just want to visit our Service Department or Parts Department. We have six (6) PHD certified factory-trained technicians. In our Parts Department we carry an extensive stock of Harley-Davidson® Genuine Service Parts.
